History of the Development of the Museum:

The Polish Kashub Heritage Museum was originally limited to displays in a small log building. It has since become the main museum building with a resource library, a heritage store and heritage displays . An official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening of Wilno Heritage Park and the Polish Kashub Heritage Museum was held on June 30, 2002 and that summer, Shirley Mask Connolly became the Museum's first curator. The Park and Museum/Skansen now includes three old-style log buildings,  two smaller wooden buildings and a large timber frame machine shed.  For more information and photos of these buildings, CLICK HERE. The Polish Kashub Heritage Museum may seem small at first glance, but visitors are always impressed by the many colourful displays, the antique furniture and the rich variety of artifacts and cultural memorabilia. With the opening of the Log Farmhouse in the Summer of 2008, there is now much more room for  displays showcasing the Permanent Collection of antique pieces and artifacts. As well, the additional display space in the house has freed up a section of the main museum "shanty" for bookshelves for the Resource Library as well as an additional  computer workstation for researchers.
